In 1467 Alcester Abbey was annexed by Evesham Abbey, the last of its own priors having been Richard Tutbury, from 1459 to 1466; from that time it had a prior or warden who was an Evesham monk. In 1536 the ownership of the abbey was transferred to Thomas Cromwell. Little now remains of the site.
