The Manitoba Provincial Police (MPP) was the policing body for the Canadian province of Manitoba from 1871 to 1932. In 1871, Frank Villiers created a force of 24 men, after becoming the first Manitoba Provincial Police chief. Following his dismissal the following year, he was replaced by Louis de Plainval, who previously served as his deputy.
