Sardar Udham Singh is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical film directed by Shoojit Sircar, produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar and written by Ritesh Shah and Shubhendu Bhattacharya under the banner of Rising Sun Films, and Kino Works. The film features Vicky Kaushal in the lead role of Udham Singh, a revolutionary freedom fighter best known for his assassination in London of Michael O'Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of the Punjab in India, on 13 March 1940, in revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919, for then which he was subsequently tried and convicted of murder and was hanged in July 31, 1940.
